Over one hundred countries all over the world took part in it. We won 28gold medals that year. China, a major sport country, will hold the 29th Olympic Games in 2008. People from all walks of life are participating in various activities and making good preparations for it.
There are five rings on the Olympic flag, which are considered to symbolize, the five continents: Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and America. The Olympic motto is: "Swifter, higher, stronger." The Games can promote the understanding and friendship among different peoples and different nations.

We had a sports meeting last Friday. All of the students took an active part in it. Our class did very well in the sports meeting. The boys won the boys' 400 metres, and the girls won the girls' 200 metres.
I joined in the sports meeting, too. In the long jump, I won the second prize. But unluckily, I was the last one in the high jump.
Though the sports meeting has been over, I'll always remember the spirit of " Faster, Higher and Stronger".

Some students are crazy about sports and some other activities.they spend much time in joining the outdoor activities and varies of groups , and also,making new friends.However,they pay a little attention to their studies.
On the contrary, some students spend almost of their time in studies and don't enjoy attending other activities.
In my opinion,I think neither of them is correct.I think we should study hard,but we also need time to relax ourselves,because if a one in a good state,he can do better.

Our school had a sports meeting last week. Eleven classes took part in it. The weather was sunny and warm, and the whole playground was quite exciting.
In the boys' relay race, Class 6 fell behind at first. But the second runner Li Lei ran faster than any other runner. Then he caught up with others little by little.
At last, their classmate, Wang Lin passed the finishing line first. Besides, Li Lin from Class 7 broke the school record for 100-meter race and Class 11 won the team title. The headmaster gave the prizes to the winners.

Jane liked sports. Her school sports meeting would be held on May 4. She had entered for(报名参加) the high jump and the long jump races, and the other girls in her class were sure she would win both. Then ten days before the sports meeting, when Jane climbed the hill she was wounded(受伤) in her left leg.
Her first thought(考虑) was for the sports meeting. Would her leg be all right by May 4? Some of her friends sent her to the hospital. The doctor said it was not serious. Jane's left leg was much better by the end of April, and on May 4 she was able to run and jump at sports.
